Scallop noodle

Bought scallops for the coming reunion dinner but decided to sample them with my instant noodles.
I used Nissin Japanese soy sauce flavour instant noodles. Also added mushrooms and egg. It was a delicious lunch, however I had over cooked the scallops and they shrank to a little too small.

Kampong Chicken

We went to Tanjong Katong again planning to feast on the Nasi Lemak again, unfortunately it was closed on Thursday.
We discovered this restaurant just a few doors away. And I'm glad that we tried it.
The chicken was very tender and I must say it was seasoned to a perfect taste. We also ordered sambal kana kong but it was a disappointment. The dishes were reasonably priced and Iust say it definitely made it to the top of the chart for the list of best chicken rice in Singapore.

CNY goodies

Chinese New Year is around the corner and as usual, Siew Boon gave me a bottle of handmade pineapple tarts.
Some how, pineapple tarts will always fall under the must have list for festive seasons. And thanks to Siew Boon, I'll be able to taste the taste of CNY.

Nasi lemak

Up to yesterday, when I'm hungry, I'll go to Changi Village for Nasi Lemak.

Upon Maverick's recommendation, we went to Punggol Nasi Lemak at Tanjong Katong road that evening.

And yes! I've found a better place for the coconut fragrant rice. There were many side dishes to choose from and the dishes tasted delicious and not oily.

Definitely a better place than my previous haunt.

Egg Tart

My friend recommended these egg tarts and claimed that they are best in Singapore.

The crust was fluffy, like the texture if A1 curry puff. The egg custard was smooth and light and tasted delicious.
It's not easy to bake delicious egg tart and I must say that these taste nice. I would go back for more.

Could you guess where did we get these egg tarts from?

It's from my favourite fast food chain - KFC.

Fire crackers red

Got this as a gift. It's iPhone 4 cover by Jimmy, the renown Taiwanese artist.

Love the red.

And there's a little rabbit there too. Just in time to usher in the year of rabbit.

Yippee! going to change my iphone cover on Chinese New Year's eve.

3 idiots

I was in a plane flying back to Singapore from Taipei on the 3 Jan 11. This is the first movie I watched in 2011 and it was unbelievably a great movie. I would say it is the best movie I have watched for the whole of 2010.

The movie is anything but slapsticks, don't be misled by the title of the movie. It was filled with laughters and tears and it taught us everything about living.

Really, I shan't reveal more as I would love you to watch it.

Yoshi and Rika, if you are reading this, please go and see whether you could rent this. It is a Hindi movie.

Toxic food

This looks fresh and green and definitely a great food for us as it reduces the risk of heart attack.

I just found out, to my horror, that this if consumed by dogs could be harmful to them. The Iphone apps "Jackboy's dog bakery" states that if brocolli exceeds 25% of a dog's diet, it is fatal.

Oops! sorry Sunny for feeding you broccoli on Christmas eve.

And yes, there are many other foods that seems healthy to human but harmful to dogs.

Grapes is another one. If too much milk is consumed, it will cause diarrhea or other digestive upset as dogs do not possess significant amount of lactase that breaks down the lactose in milk.

The lesson to learn is that not everything that seems harmless is really so.

Be discerning and ignorant is definitely not a bliss here.
