There a Cheong Sum exhibition at the National Museum Singapore.

In the past, a Cheong Sum was tailored in a tailor and it would be packed in this kind of box.

Butter Milk Craneberry scones

My first attempt in making scones!

I googled YouTube and followed the steps in making the coffee house scones.

I must say I personally love the taste. Crispy brown on the outside and soft on the inside. They have the nice butter aroma and I must say they taste better than scones sold in some cafe.

Everyday when we wake up, our lives lay before us like a blackboard.

Fill it up with purposeful plan and we will have a purpose-filled day.

Leave it blank and one day of our lives will be just a blank piece of unwritten slab.

A photo a day #10

Can you make out what is this?

It's a ceramic sculpture of a little frog on a lily leaf.

For the first time in more than 40 years, my coursemates and I went to the Lin Chu Kang area to explore. There are many farms and nurseries there. Bought this in one of the nurseries and had goat milk.

It was really an eventful day.

Char Siew Noodles

At the junction of East Coast Road and Joo Chiat Road, there's a stall in the Kopitiam selling Char Siew Noodles and it's really delicious, for me at least.

The next time when I crave for noodles, that's where I'm heading. Just directly opposite Katong 112.

Ubuntu

An anthropologist studying the habits and customs of an African tribe
found himself surrounded by children most days. So he decided to play
a little game with them. He managed to get candy from the nearest town
and put it all in a decorated basket, at the foot of a tree.

Then he called the children and suggested they play the game. When the
anthropologist said "now", the children had to run to the tree and the
first one to get there could have all the candy to him/herself.

So the children all lined up waiting for the signal. When the
anthropologist said "now", all of the children took each other by the
hand ran together towards the tree. They all arrived at the same time
divided up the candy, sat down and began to happily munch away.
...
The anthropologist went over to them and asked why they had all run
together when any one of them could have had the candy all to
themselves.

The children responded: "Ubuntu. How could any one of us be happy if
all the others were sad?"

Ubuntu is a philosophy of African tribes that can be summed up as "I
am what I am because of who we all are."

Do you remember how to fold a origami crane?

Was trying to fold one yesterday but realized that I have forgotten how to do it.

I have to refer to the instruction to recall the steps.

A gift ...

Which I hang on my tote bag.

When a gift is bestowed on you, recognize this gift and utilize it to edify yourself and others. Let not such gift be brush off by ignorance nor clouded mind that you become oblivious to it.

Cranes of hope

My course mate used shape of crane to do a self portrait. I thought it is so creative and interestingly beautiful.

Self shot

Love this effect!

It is known that cactus is hardy and kind of easy to survive. The little ones that come in a tiny pot are not easy to maintain, on the contrary.

I've given many to friends in nice pots but a lot of them were murdered by drowning.

They survive with little water, so don't drown them with excessive watering.

The classic"

Really love this simple modest gold Casio. Though it may not cost in the thousands, but it certainly could stand against time - never outdated.

A photo a day #01

I'm inspired by someone I know recently that he tries to take pictures everyday and post in on his Tumblr.

I'm trying to start a photo a day programme taking things around us at different angles and posting them. Of course with some effects from photo apps, these mundane objects get a new lease of life.

To start off, here's "legs of a table"
