Step by step

Step by step

Self portrait

This is a self portrait using soft pastel.

It is my second time using this medium to make art and it's more or less a trial.

Looking at specks of colours and capturing these colours. This is not a realistic drawing study but training the eyes to be more sensitive to colours.

Toast your green

I toasted some greens with cheese.
The melted cheese adds saltiness and cheesy taste to the greens.

Should have added more cheese to give it more taste.

Recycled bottle pot

I leant this from a TV programme.

There's really no need to buy expensive glass vases.

Don't you think this looks neat too and it shouts "save the earth".
Planning to make one for Joyce's birthday.

Resin paper weight

I made 3 resin paper weights using some of my drawings using permenant marker ( Zebra 0.5) on water-colour paper.

It was just a trial as I wasn't sure whether the ink would run in the resin.

Fortunately, it didn't and I was kind of happy with the end product.

Which is better?

Paul Frank (left) or Korean made frame (right)?

Glasses with progressive lens

Collected my second pair of glasses.

This one is with frame made in Korea and brandless so it's cheaper than my Paul Frank glasses which I have lost earlier this month.

My priority is to choose a frame that fits my facial shape and not so much of going for brands.

Actually I prefer this pair than the Paul Frank. It's lighter and fits my face better.

World best wu Xiang

Really I swear, this wu Xiang is really superb.

The chilli sauce is the one that stands out from all the rest of the Wu Xiang I've tasted. The chilli sauce has sesame, peanut and garlic. It's spicy yet not overly spicy.

The wu Xiang is fresh and fried to the right crispiness.

I just can't resist every time I'm at Bedok central. The stall is situated in a Kopitiam Iocated next to bedok point mall.

Banana Soy

Not far from the Kopitiam, just a few doors away, there's a cafe that sells soy products.

We went in for a drink, the banana soy ( with less sugar ) taste good. Love the banana flavor in the drink, it didn't taste like chemical flavoring at all.

So if you are around for the pig knuckles, do drop by this cafe for a cup of soy drink.

300 Joo Chiat Road

Went to the Kopitiam at 300 Joo Chiat Road for Teo Chiew Porridge this afternoon.

The pig knuckle was delicious, better than most I've tasted. It's chewy with collagen, but not oily. The meat was not overly salty and has a nice fragrance.

Feel so contented after I empty the bowl.

Must try!

Sketch book

Got this hard cover book from PageOne bookstore, "conceptual drawings from the world's most influential designers".

"To draw oneself, to trace the lines,
Handle the volumes, organize the surface ...
all this means first to look, and then
to observe and finally perhaps to discover ...
and it is then that inspiration may come."

Le Corbusier

Make more notes

If you are a sucker for blank note book, make your way down to PageOne bookstore's closing down sale.

These velvet hard cover note books are going at a 50% discount.

Just can't resist, got to buy them!

Take Cover

I used a discarded iPhone cover and gave it a new lease of life.

Drew my design on it and will varnish it soon so I could dress my iPhone with it.

Recycle, reuse and recover!

You got mails

When I opened up my letter box yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised that the two parcels of my online shopping arrived at the same time.

Yet to try both the items. Accessories for my car and iPhone.

Lost

Boo hoo hoo!

Lost my Paul Frank glasses just after a month.

Disappointed with myself for being so careless.

Boo hoo hoo!
