No Journey Too Tough

After I read Siew Boon blog about Dr William Tan,

I told myself I must read the book written by this great man.

Siew Boon is kind enough to loan me this book, "No Journey Too Tough"

I pray to God to work miracle and heal Dr William Tan of his cancer.

Obese opportunity

I weigh myself in my bathroom, cloths free.
And I kind of expected it, but still in great denial when my mass came up to 70Kg.

Oh my God!

It's definitely my highest ever.

Must start my running regime again!!!

A child called "It"

I've seen this book many times and finally I've got a chance to read it.

Reading this book is not easy cos I would pent up such anger and saddness in my heart.

It is a true account of the life of Dave Pelzer, who as a child of tender age of about five went through the living hell of what was know as the third most serious child abuse case in USA.

I could not figure out how a woman who could torture her own biological son to such inhumane extreme. You have to read the book to know how bad the physical, psychological and emotional hurt she inflicted on her son who whom she had given life to, yet with her own hands trying to take it away in such bizzare and wicked ways.

I want to share a part of the book which depict how much despair the little boy had at that point of suffering:

" When I fell asleep, my soul became consumed in a black void. I no longer awoke in the mornings refreshed; I was tired and told myself that I had one day less to live in this world. I shuffled through my chores, dreading every moment of every day. With no dreams, I found that words like hope and faith were only letters, randomly put together into something meaningless - words only for fairy tales."
