Make myself happy

Life may not be smooth sailing. But a lesson I learnt from the passing on of Singapore's popular actor Huang Wen Yong, life is too short to dwell on the unhappy things.

Every minute spend thinking about unpleasant matters or people is wasted time.

Work wise, it was challenging couple of weeks ago. But I make myself happy by buying myself a few iPhone covers.

Love the "Take it easy" one.

Another tea cup

This is one of the 3 tea cups that I glazed the other time and one that turned out quite satisfactory. I like the blue which has little specks if darker blue. In addition, the blue blended with the black well and created an interesting effect.

Little Greeny

This is one of the little tea cups that I glazed last week. I find that the green is too dark and didn't contrast with the black at the top well.

This little fella is going to serve me tea for a while from now on.

What will they turned out to be?

Glazed three of my tea cups this morning. Again wondering how they will turned out.

You see, after firing, the colours will turn out very different.

So keeping my fingers crossed and hope they will turn out to be my liking.

Work in progress

Working on my first for sale sewing project under the label of mRk studio label.

These will be put up on sale on my other blog at mrkstudio.blogspot.sg

Ink & water colour

My attempt on ink and water colour sketching street scene @ Boat Quay.

Plein Air water colour course

Attended a two day outdoor water colour course. This was the second day of the course and we were at Boat Quay to learn sketching street scene using ink and water colour.

I love this way of drawing street scene and will probably do more of it.

Red bean soup

I was buying my prawn Mee for my lunch as usual and today, I was pleasantly surprised when the stall owner offer me a bowl of red bean soup.

I was touched and it made my day. Sometimes you really don't need to do great things to touch another, simple gestures could go a long way as well

I'm thankful and grateful to the stall owner. She probably doesn't know that her little act of kindness meant so much to me.

Ceramic #3

My third completed piece. Again, like the previous two, it turned out to be a little greenish.

Not very happy with the glazing, but again, there's so much to learn about glazing.

I have a long road ahead of me.

Ceramic

This is my second completed ceramic piece. It turned out not too bad but a little different from what I expected it to be.

A very unpolished raw piece of work but I like the rawness.
