3 idiots

I was in a plane flying back to Singapore from Taipei on the 3 Jan 11. This is the first movie I watched in 2011 and it was unbelievably a great movie. I would say it is the best movie I have watched for the whole of 2010.

The movie is anything but slapsticks, don't be misled by the title of the movie. It was filled with laughters and tears and it taught us everything about living.

Really, I shan't reveal more as I would love you to watch it.

Yoshi and Rika, if you are reading this, please go and see whether you could rent this. It is a Hindi movie.

Devil

"Devil" is Night's latest movie.
The other of his movies which I like was " 6 Sense "

He was able to glued you to the screen the entire time with the suspense. One of the five passengers in the lift was not a human.

But which one???

Five passengers were trapped in a lift, and one by one they die.

Who was the killer?
Who would be killed next?
Would anyone survive this ordeal?
What was the reason the five were in the ill fated lift?

There was a unscrupulous salesman who cheated many of their money. An old lady who was a thief. A temp security guard who had clubbed someone to death. A lady who married wealthy men and swindle their money away. Last but not least, a suspicious man whose identity was not clear.

Can you guess which one is more than a human?

Phobia 2

THis is a sequeal to 4bia. I prefer the former as the stories in 4bia are more interesting and scarier. The latter is make up of 5 short horror stories in different forms. You can find zombies, horror comedy and stories that spook you.

An entertaining movie. Love the hospital and 2nd hand car stories.

4bia

I have watched this before and I think it is the best horror movie in 2008
It was made up of 4 short horror stories and all are hair raisingly interesting.
I watched this with Siew Boon, the only friend who is gutsy enough to watch horror movie with me.
At the end of the 3rd story, the teenagers who was sitting behind me was relenting aloud that there was one more to go,
they were probably shitting in their pants.

I recently found out that Johnny, my colleague, had bought the DVD.
I told him I am going to his home movie studio to watch with him.
His home movie studio is as good as the cinema
and sound effect will scare the hell out of you, really no kidding.

The Coffin

This was such a disappointment!
If you ask me out of five stars, how many stars would I award, I would say half a star. No, don't even watch the movie, save the $9.50 for something else, like a good meal.

The plot was really weak and I wasn't even sure, after watching the whole movie, why did the Ghost haunt the male lead. The pace of the whole movie was a slow drag and the tempo was just not there to lift up the eerie feeling. And the scare technique used by the director was not shocking enough. Karen Mok's performance here pale in comparison to Li xinJie and Shu Qi in The Eye and Eye 2 respectively.

I almost fell asleep watching the movie, and no I wasn't imagining I was in a coffin.
This Raintree production is such a let down.
And sorry Siew Boon, I watched it without you but that would mean you saved $9.50.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

The movie "Mirrors" is definitely not one for the faint hearted.

I mean, man! it is so gross and bloody.

The first act has this man slid his own throat. And if you think that is bad, there is another scene where this lady tore off her own jaw. I had my hands all over my eyes.

This remake of the Korean version of "Into the Mirror" is nothing like the original. The Korean version's success lies on the eerie and creepy mood that capture the audiences' attention. Whereas for the Hollywood remake, I was too traumatized by the nerve racking scenes.

If you think I am exaggerating, go google youtube for the Mirrors trailer and you will get a glimpse of the hair raising scenes. Look for the jaw ripping scene.

Be warned, it is not for the faint hearted.
